The Guerrino Tramonti House Museum is located in Faenza, in the place where, in the end of the 1950s purchased land and had a solid container built to house the his family and his art, where he lived and worked from 1958 until his death.
Sculptor, ceramist and painter. Master of Applied Arts who ranged in art textile, Guerrino Tramonti (Faenza 1915-1992) is a historicized artist who has created a large series of works and continued his path closely contact with some of the main personalities of the Italian artistic-cultural world of Twentieth century.
During his life he moved to various Italian cities where he frequented houses or art studios and, starting immediately after the war, on behalf of the Ministry of Culture, starts some of the main Art Institutes in the country by teaching the tradition but, at the same time, preparing young people for the leap of innovation, be they future artisans or artists or men of culture.
He always returns to his hometown where he works and leaves his traces and his legacy of man and artist.
In 1987 he himself created an exhibition itinerary transforming the spaces until then used for the ovens, the laboratory and the shop.
After his passing, the Guerrino Tramonti Foundation was born by will of the Artist and his family which opened to the public in 2013.
Approximately 390 works are exhibited in the 7 rooms which, according to the artist, are the best reflect his path: an immense variety of shapes, colors and a sublime expressive world created by an original chromatic sensitivity also applied to paintings on canvas and wood.
● terracotta sculptures from the thirties and forties;
● the paintings executed between 1945 and 1948, in the Venetian period, characterized from post-metaphysical aesthetics;
● the polychrome glazed ceramic works, which present a large chromatic intensity and an extraordinary quality of the coverings that give life to exceptionally sharp and poetic images;
● the famous porcelains that made the Artist particularly proud, works inspired by the ceramic materials and techniques of China, Korea and Japan, fruit of his alchemical research in the sixties;
● his famous decorative discs, made with the coarse glazing technique thickness invented by him in 1953, when he was the Director of the School of Art of Castles, which distinguish his most peculiar style;
● the oil paintings of the second period, abstract and material, created between the end of the 1992, the year of his death in the sixties.
The Guerrino Tramonti House Museum is included in the National Museum System (Mibact), in the Museums of the Union of Romagna Faentina (Miurf) and recognized by Cultural Heritage Sector as per law 2/2022 "Houses and studies of illustrious people of Emilia Romagna".
